Our Osteopaths use hands-on techniques to help relieve shoulder pain – but that’s not all.
We also provide exercise rehabilitation, movement training, pain education, postural corrections and more to help you understand your shoulder injury better than anyone else.
One of the most common reasons people see an Osteopath is for treatment of shoulder pain – our own internal data suggests almost a third of our patients suffer with shoulder pain.
During your first consultation your Osteopath will assess your neck and surrounding areas to diagnose your problem, then provide a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise rehabilitation and management advice tailored to you.
If you have a shoulder complaint such as tendinopathy, rotator cuff tears, bursitis, impingement, repetitive strain, postural complaints or a gym injury, our Osteopaths in Camberwell, Carnegie and Oakleigh can help.

Shoulder pain – what can be done about it?
Shoulder injuries are often recurrent or chronic, but there’s no need to suffer.
The Osteopaths of Chadstone Region Osteopathy are here to help – we take the time to find out what’s happened, then discuss and decide with you the best plan of approach to fix it. Our Osteos will then provide hands-on treatment, as well as teaching you strategies to keep things feeling better. To do all this we have long consultation times, which means you don’t get rushed when telling your story, then pushed out the door.
Osteopaths treat using a combination of massage, stretching, joint mobilisation, manipulation, and exercise rehabilitation. Our Osteopaths have also completed additional training into trigger point dry needling, and chronic pain education. We aim to restore not only movement, but normal natural function and freedom to ensure you can do all that you want and need to do with your shoulders.
All treatments are tailored to your individual needs, and can be incredibly gentle and relaxing, through to very firm depending on your requirements and mechanism of injury.
Shoulder pain is extremely common
We all get shoulder pain from time to time. Sometimes it’s mild and short-lived, other times it’s severe, debilitating and prolonged.
Our role as Osteopaths is to identify the cause of your shoulder pain, and figure out the best way to relieve it for you as quickly as possible!
We commonly treat shoulder pain originating from tendinopathy, rotator cuff tears, bursitis, impingement, repetitive strain, postural complaints or a gym injury
So if you’re moving a bit more robotically than you’d like to, let us help restore your mobility, reduce your pain and get you back to effortless movement.
I’ve had shoulder pain for ages – “nothing seems to fix it!”
This is where the fresh approach of Chadstone Region Osteopathy can help.
We use evidence based interventions and a structured approach tailored specifically to you – we identify what you can and can’t do, as well as discuss where you would like to get to. Then we show you the pathway, and work with you to help you get there as quickly as possible.
We all need help sometimes. Our Osteopaths can provide you symptomatic relief with our hands, guide you through the rehabilitation process and ensure that you end up being able to do all the things you want to be doing.
And if we can’t, we’ll make sure we provide referrals to our team of other allied health practitioners, GP’s and specialists that we work closely with!
